SMOKE DETECTOR VERIFICATION
SMOKE DETECTOR IN THE PROPERTY: This form is to acknowledge that the residence you are moving into at the following address, ________________________________ has a smoke detector, which has been verified by __________________________ . He/She has also tested it on the following date,___________ , and verified that the smoke detector is working.

RESIDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY: Please note that it is the responsibility of the resident to test the operation of the smoke detector at least twice a year, and notify management if it is not working. The batteries should be replaced at least once a year. If they are older that (or if you are unsure) they must be replaced with batteries of the same type. If you are unsure of what type to use, let us know. If smoking is permitted in your rental agreement, an additional smoke detector should be installed in the bedroom, even if no one smokes in bed and we will be happy to install one without charge.
